There it is…it’s a July flyer…
SUMMER PARTY @ NEIL’S: 12966 RUBENS AVE, MARINA DEL REY – SATURDAY, JULY 21ST, lPM TO 8PM
Oktoberfest in July? You betcha! Join us for the first of our big parties of the year and bring your best German Potato Salad – we’ll have an informal competition to find the best of the bunch. Don’t forget to bring kegs of beer, too! This is YOUR party, so do your part to make it awesome – please volunteer for anything from set-up, food prep, and cooking, to front gate duty and clean-up. Please email [email protected] to let us know how you’ll help and to RSVP.
FIRST FRIDAY @ FOUR POINTS SHERATON LAX POOLSIDE: 9750 AIRPORT BLVD, AUGUST 3RD, 5PM TO 9PM
The Four Points always has many, many great beers on tap and in bottles, so what better than that, around the pool, on a warm summer night? Just don’t fall in, K?
MEAD DAY @ THE CARRIAGE HOUSE: 2379 21ST STREET, LA – SATURDAY, AUGUST 11TH, lOAM TO 6PM
**NOTE DATE CHANGE** Mmmmm…mead. I love it, don’t you? This will be like a big brew, but instead of beer, we’ll be brewing multiple batches of that ancient and magical elixir. Perhaps you’ll find the inspiration to join us!
CLUB MEETING @ CCHBS: AUGUST 16TH, 7PM – PORTER
Brown, robust, and sometimes, even Baltic! We’ll get down with less-than-black beer once again – expect to enjoy all shades of flavor and aroma – from mild roastiness, toffee, and caramel, to deep chocolate darkness, licorice, and dried fruit. Love this style? Then run the commercial tasting! See or email VP Dave Mauceli for more info.
ON THE HORIZON:
FIRST FRIDAY @ THE TRUX STOP: 7643 TRUXTON AVENUE, LA – SEPTEMBER 7th, 7PM TO 11PM
Tomm and Danise’s “Trux Stop” tap room is open, and he’s got WAY more beer than he can ever drink himself, so it behooves us to do the right thing and help him out. Bring some beers to share too, why don’tcha? Join us for good times and great beers, and stay outta the walk-in!
CLUB MEETING @ CCHBS: SEPTEMBER 20TH, 7PM – HYBRID BEERS
What are hybrid beers, you ask? They’re beers that blur the lines between ales and lagers. This often owes to fermenting said hybrid with a lager yeast at ale yeast temperature…but not always! Confused? Come to the September meeting and figure it all out. We’re always looking for brave souls to run the commercial tasting, so if you’re straight on your Creams, Kolsches, Alts, and Commons (or not), see or email VP Dave Mauceli.
BIG BREW / JOCKEY BOX BUILD / CHILI COOKOFF: OCTOBER 13TH, 10AM – LOCATION TBD
Our last jockey box build day went really well – don’t you want your own too? We’ll be conducting a survey to guage interest in the coming weeks. Multi-brewing and a chili cookoff will also be happening – join in! Stay tuned for more details.
