Entries Due for California State Homebrew Competition

Entries are due no later than Friday, October 4th for the last competition of the brewing year, the California State Homebrew Competition.  Registration is up and running at http://www.nchfinfo.org/state-comp .    This year we need to ship the entries up to the bay area, so all entries must be packed for shipping.  Make sure the boxes you use are free of alcohol labeling so they don’t get rejected by UPS.  And, of course, use plenty of bubble wrap so they don’t break in transit.  Since the Culver City shop is still out of commission, you can drop of entries at my place:  3621 Redwood Ave LA 90066.  Anytime between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM works for me.

Cost is $8.00 per entry and 3 bottles are required.  This is one of the big competitions used to determine the Anchor Club of the Year Award, with the big prize being a banquet dinner at Anchor Brewing for the winning club.  If you miss the Friday deadline, you can ship them off yourself to the address listed on the website as long as they arrive by October 12.

I want to thank everybody who turned out for the the 2013 Pacific Brewers Cup.      This year, Long Beach Homebrewers, had about 480 entries, a new record.   I had the honor of judging Best of Show where we picked a wonderflu Flanders red, made by  Kevin Margulieux of Breluminati.   Complete results are posted at:
