AFC Entries Due Feb 5th
As the new homebrew competition season gets underway, it is now time to get ready for the first official event. Entry registration for the America’s Finest City homebrew competition is now open at https://quaff.org/AFC-2015/. This event takes 2 bottles per entry and costs $7.00. You can drop off entries up until February 5th at the Culver City Homebrew Supply Co. QUAFF is also looking for judges for the competition on February 20th and 21st.
Following up close behind is the AHA National Homebrew Competition. To enter this competition, you MUST be a member of the AHA. Assuming you are, you will get an invitation to submit an entry application directly from AHA in the next week or so. You must respond to this between February 2 and 8th with the number of entries you would like to submit and where you will be willing to send them. They will tally up the entry requests and will let you know how many bottles you will be allowed to enter. Once your entry count has been approved, you will need to register and pay for the entries. Bottles will need to be submitted between March 2nd and 11th. We will provide transportation if the entries are going to San Diego. However, if your entries are approved for a different site, you are on your own to ship them via UPS.
Looking further into February, get ready for the Los Angeles Belgian Beer Challenge. Registration will open February 1 at http://belgianbrewchallenge.com/, with judging on March 14th.
