Happy New Year!

For the first month of the year this January, we will be having a First Saturday instead of the usual First Friday. We are headed to The Library Alehouse in Santa Monica.

September First Friday at Tortugo Brewing!

It is September already!

For our First Friday in September, we have decided to head back to Tortugo for our home court advantage.

First Friday:  September 2nd, 2022 @ 7:00 PM at Tortugo Brewing Co, located at 916 W Hyde Park Blvd, Inglewood, CA 90302

Note: We will not be gathering in the meeting area, but will have a table near the bar.

Yeastside Brewers San Diego bus trip next month, September 17

The YS is planning a bus trip to some San Diego breweries for September 17th and we wanted to extend an invite to PG.  We’re still in the planning stages and looking to get as good a deal as we can for the bus and for us, so the more, the merrier, and cheaper.  We also have a call out to the WASH folks for interest.

Breweries we’re considering stopping at are White Labs, Setting Sun (sake), Lost Cause Meadery, Duck Foot, Pure Project, California Wild Ales, and Black Plague.  Ambitious, but a few of these are very close to each other and we’ll be making adjustments as necessary on the day of.  Some of these breweries should have food trucks, so no dedicated eating stop – we’ll all be responsible for ourselves.

We’ll meet at Union Station and be on the bus and on our way at 10am latest.  We expect to be back around 8pm or so.

Cost will be approximately $35 to $50 per rider depending on how well we can do on the bus / turnout.  Payment could be via email / Venmo, or we might have a Square on the bus, and cash.

Second Saturday at Project Barley Taps and Grill

For our First Friday (on second Saturday) in July, we are headed down to Kings Harbor to visit Project Barley’s new tasting room located at:

I hope this message finds you safe and well!  The PG Board continues to struggle with keeping us all safe while allowing some kind of social gathering!  We hope this First Friday will fit the bill!

We have reserved the back patio for our group, it is outdoors yet in an enclosed area so we won’t have a lot of foot traffic coming through.  This way we can socially distance while being gathered together!

Tom Rierson reports in good things about the pub; the new owners have made some renovations to improve on the location.  He has also arranged that “Old Rasputin” will be one of the offerings on tap that evening.  The beers are $8.00.

So come on out, join your fellow members and lift a pint!

July First Friday at Firestone Walker Propagator

As July rolls around, we are starting to break out of our social bubbles. We will start out with First Friday live and in-person at Firestone-Walker Propagator Restaurant. Join us Friday July 2 at 7:00 PM at an indoor table reserved for the club.  Manager Jay Sanders will stop by our table and fill us in on all the happenings at the Propagator.  He has also offered us the opportunity to bring a homebrew along (NO commercial beers). While you’re there, don’t forget to stop by the Bottle Store (which closes at 9PM).

For our First Friday in April we are featuring Three Weavers Brewing Company.  We will be firing up the Zoom virtual meeting at 7:00PM April 2nd.  Alexandra has put together a special mixed four pack consisting of the following:
